About Us

The Burton Musical Theatre Company was formed as Burton Operatic Society in the 1920s and re-formed in the early 1950s producing mainly Operetta.

Since the late 70s, the Society has moved on from Operetta to Musicals and performs two shows a year at The de Ferrers Academy, Harehedge Lane, Stretton.

Our shows range from well known ‘box office hits’ to lesser known shows that give our audiences the opportunity to see some first class productions with sets built by our crew, and music provided by our excellent band of musicians.

We also usually perform a concert each summer, which is often staged at the Burton Brewhouse.  These concerts feature a mixed programme of songs from shows and films along with other material.

Our honorary patron since 2008 is Gary Wilmot.

If you would like to join us either onstage or offstage, please contact us.

The Burton Musical Theatre Company is a Registered Charity (No. 1003451) and is affiliated to NODA and Burton and District Arts Council
